A superb early 19th Century Derby twin handled porcelain basket.

The basket dates back to the late Georgian period around 1820. This beautiful example has a large central reserve hand painted with painted topographical scene “In Switzerland” in the manner of John Brewer.

The body of the basket features extensive and elaborate gilt work over a white ground. It is also gilded to the underside.

The Derby crossed baton mark and the name of the scene in black are featured to the underside.

A very showy piece which would make a marvellous addition to a collection of fine antique porcelain.

Dimensions (approx)
Height 12 сm
Length – 30 cm
Width – 23 cm

Condition
Excellent condition, without any damage or signs of restoration. No glaze crazing or any other issues. Gilt is remarkably good for age with very limited wear.

A truly fantastic example!
