A fine ruby and diamond crossover ring in platinum set with two flowerhead terminals – one with five Burmese ruby pear-shaped petals to a round brilliant cut diamond centre, the other with five diamond petals to a Burmese ruby centre. The shoulders are inset with baguette and trapeze shaped diamonds to a smooth platinum shank.
This ring contains 2.60 carats (approx) of diamonds and 2.40 carats (approx) of Burmese rubies and is marked 10% Irid Plat indicating that the ring was made in America circa 1960. The diamonds are colourless to near colourless (E/F) and VS to VVS in clarity.
The ring is currently a size J (5-US), but may be sized if required.
The crossover flower design of this ring is very similar to the “Clover” ring created by Van Cleef et Arpels in 1935 (ref: Sylvie Raulet, Van Cleef & Arpels pg 121)
