This small sterling silver bud vase was by the Gorham Silver Co. in 1900, as dated by the bell hallmark. The unique thing about this vase is that it was made in 3 pieces. The body, instead of coming down to the base as one piece, comes down to a threaded screw. The base itself fits over the screw and then is attached by a brass fitting that screws up to the bottom of the base. I have never seen a piece of silver that was fabricated in this design. The condition of this piece is very good. The height of this vase is 4" and the weight is 1.51 troy ozs.
