This beautiful set of 12 egg spoons was made by the Gorham Silver Co. circa 1860. The spoons were done in the " Japanism" pattern. The motif for this pattern was a take off from Japanese art which was very popular in the second half of the 19th century. These spoons are referred to as egg spoons because the bowls of the spoons, are small enough to fit into the top opening of a soft boiled egg.
