This beautiful sterling silver center piece bowl was made by the Gorham Silver Co. in 1869. This center piece was designed in the empire style that was popular at that time. The top of this piece is flared out to accommodate flowers and underneath it is a geometric designed border. The handles are squared and are topped with a chrysanthemum design and the interior of the bowl is gilded. There are two engraved monograms, on one side the engraving reads "EVI" and on the other side is "1869" On the bottom of this piece is an inscription "Grandmother Howard".
