Talk about personality! This 13 inch cabinet sized girl has it all and she’s very hard to find, so don’t miss this chance to add her to your collection. You will find her flirting with the boys with those beautiful brown eyes glancing the other way the moment she thinks she’s got one’s attention!
HEAD: She has beautiful bisque in excellent condition. She has the incised markings on the back of her head with SH and number 1039 with a size 4 Germany. A red stamp saying, “Wimpern” has been applied as well. If you look inside her head, you will find the remarkable mechanism that creates the smooth working horizontal back and forth movement of her eyes. Her fluffy eyelashes on the upper lids are patented and appear to be made of silk rather than mohair. Short black lashes are painted on the lower lids. The eyebrows are incredible with many fine strokes. Her pert little lips are parted in a coy smile revealing her 4 white porcelain inset teeth and as you can see, the dimple in her chin just adds to her fun personality. She wears a vintage French human hair wig over her original cardboard pate.
BODY: She has the typical wood and composition body with the longer thighs which make her proportions look more like an adolescent. It shows very little wear from play but has evidence of years of expansion and contraction of the paint which has released in a long thin strip down the back of one thigh and a couple of splits and cracks in the paint on the arms. Regardless of these flaws, it is all is still nice and sturdy and is in better condition than most. Her hands and feet are wonderfully original and still have their red accent lines. Her stringing is good so she holds a pose well.
CLOTHING: Clean white dimity fabric with vertical woven lines was used to create her darling antique dress with pigeon breast bodice, fitted waist and full skirt which buttons up the back using mother of pearl buttons and handmade button holes. Her petticoat and pantaloons appear to be original to her as they fit perfectly and have matching lace. They do show some wear, with a small area of the slip front needing mending and the back of the pantaloons having a small tear at the closure. An expert mend will be accomplish prior to her being shipped to her new owner. An old straw hat in excellent condition is tied under her chin with a pink silk ribbon and darling tiny rose buds from my garden accenting the brim. Pink leather shoes with silver tone buckle grace her feet. She is shown enjoying her fox terrier dog with a bouquet of roses she has just picked to be used for the photo shoot.
