This is indeed a statement necklace, a great necklace for so many looks. It is a chunky necklace, quite flattering on, with good autumnal colours.
The necklace is comprised of many different elements, all natural colours and stones, and all unmatched in size, so my measurements are approximate.
Large, polished stones of brilliant blue lapis (27.5mm x 35 mm) sit next to good -sized nuggets of whisky toned amber (28.7 mm x 13.6mm).
Quite impressive rough- cut chunks of rock crystal (32 mm x 24 mm) back onto vintage Chinese brass coins (26 mm) with gold plated silver cylinder beads (17 mm)
in between the coins.
Mat lapis cylinder discs (25 mm x 17.7 mm) contrast with large golden amber
nugget (32.8 mm x 27.6 mm x 16 mm deep).
A substantial, vintage, nephrite jade, chocolate coloured bead, carved in a swirl (29.6 mm), is balanced by a large, antique white nephrite jade bead, carved in a decorative design (29 mm). And finally a large, handmade brass globe bead from Nigeria (26.8 mm) finishes the array of elements.
There are various brass and vintage gold on silver on hardened resin beads from Afghanistan, used as spacers to separate the various beads.
At the end of the necklace, I have added Chinese knotting with a silk/polyester cord, using the traditional “button and flat” knots. This lightens the necklace and makes it more comfortable to wear.
I have used a gold filled on silver toggle clasp. Toggle clasps are easy to use and secure. My silver name label is attached at the clasp.
The necklace comes, like all my necklaces, with it's own colour co-ordinated silk brocaded pouch bag, made by a Shanghai tailor.
The necklace is 19 ½ inches long.
