A lively vintage carp carved from natural nephrite jade, seems to virtually leap up to catch a carnelian bead, (at 8 mm), topped by a vintage, traditional Afghan gold plated bead at 7 mm. And the pendant hangs on more 3 mm carnelian beads which wrap around both strands of jadeite cylinders.
The jadeite cylinders, at 5 mm, alternate in the various natural shades of jade, from apple green, to celadon, to brown, to tan, to white, to moss, and finally to red.
But returning to that vivacious carp, it is the beautiful carving of the tail fins that captivates and clearly propels the fish, which is 2 ½ inches long and 1 ½ inch wide.
I have used a vermeil toggle clasp. Toggle clasps are easy to use and secure. My silver name label is attached at the clasp.
The necklace is 22 ½ inches long with a 3 inch pendant drop.
The necklace comes, like all my necklaces, with it's own silk brocaded pouch bag, made by the Shanghai tailor.
