Unusual delicate necklace for sale. Mid-twentieth century, this lovely smoky topaz lavalier necklace could have been made any time between the end of the Art Nouveau period through the mid-century 1950's era or fraternities and sororities. Lavaliers have been a popular type of necklace design since jewelry began to be worn. This necklace is goldfilled, both chain and frame for stone; the stone is approximately a 2 to 3-carat smoky topaz. The topaz drop is approximately 1-inch long by 1/2 inch wide. Hang length is 29 inches. A lovely, delicate simple necklace to give and wear; a pendant necklace to wear anywhere, any time. Spots in pictures are not on the necklace but caused by light glare during photographing the item.
