Antique Victorian Bohemian Garnet Necklace. A hand-crafted gold covered silver necklace setting features prong-set red foil-backed pyrope garnets. The garnets were mined and the necklace made in the Czech Republic during the mid-1800s. Valued by Queen Victoria and Victorian ladies because Bohemian garnets offered such a rich pomegranate red color. The necklace is 19 1/2 inches long with a plunger clasp decorated in garnets to match the necklace when closed. The clasp has a safety chain to protect against loss of the necklace in case the clasp should open. This necklace is fit for a queen and looks like it should be worn by one. This necklace's gold back is bright and in excellent condition. This lovely necklace is in excellent vintage condition. Appraised recently for replacement value of $2000. The deep blood red color of the garnets draw you in with their beauty. A piece for your collection and for your heirs.
