For your consideration is two vintage Christmas postcards that feature lovely birds at Christmas. The first on shows, what I think are, 2 Chickadees perched on a snow covered Holly & Berries branch & it reads above them & to the bottom left side: CHRISTMAS; Hearty Greetings. It is marked on the back: Printed in Germany. There is writing on the back, a postmark dated 1908 along with the postmark is another stamp that reads: Kingsessing Station, & a green Franklin one cent stamp. Approx.: 3 1/2"W X 5 1/2"L.
The second Christmas postcard displays a single lovely two tone yellow to green bird with black trim. (I do not know what kind of bird this is, but it is very lovely.) The bird seems to be chirping, maybe, & standing among some Holly & Berries on each side of him. It reads on the front: To Wish you a Merry Christmas and a bright New Year. It is marked on the back: German American Novelty Art Series No. 1190 (6 Des.), Printed in Germany. There is writing on the back, a postmark that is hard to read the last two digits, but the first two are 19.., & a green Franklin One Cent Stamp. This postcard is from the early 1900's also! Approx.: 3 1/2"W X 5 1/2"L.
The colors are still vibrant on both postcards! Both show some very light wear overall from age & use, however! Such as: Light yellowing & lightly scuffed corners & edges. All flaws noted are minor & only mentioned for accuracy! Very lovely postcards in very good, vintage & collectible condition! (Price quoted is for both postcards together!)
