For your consideration is a vintage black enamel painted cast iron ink well holder with the original glass ink bottle. It reads on the bottom of the bottle: Higgins Drawing Ink. (So this inkwell was apparently made for and used by a artist.) There is still some dry old ink in the bottle, also. The black enamel painted cast iron holder has a flat press handle that, when you push down on it, the lid on the bottle lifts up. The bottle is held in place by a horseshoe shaped silver tone metal arm that is attached to the inkwell holder. The base of the holder is oval in shape, also. On top of the black lid is a screw on adjustment screw, so you can replace the spring attached on the inside or underside of the lid & the plastic cap that acts as the lid of the bottle. (There is a small 2/8"L crack on this plastic lid that is very hard to see unless you are looking for it. This is a heavy item due to the cast iron, and it is very unusual! I have never seen a inkwell such as this one before. It is in very good, vintage & collectible condition. Approx.: 3 1/4"T X 5 1/2"L X 3 1/2"W. Unmarked! (Great addition to any inkwell collection or for use, also!)
