For your consideration is a vintage Thanksgiving postcard that is titled: Best Wishes For A Joyful Thanksgiving. It has a poem on the front that reads: "Over the river and over the hill, To grandmother's house we go, The horse knows the way, To Carry the sleigh, Over the drifting snow, Hurrah for the fun!, Is the turkey done!, Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!" It displays a serene scene of a cottage in the Winter snow with a sleigh pulled by a horse and snow covered trees. On the upper right corner is a tree branch covered with sleigh bells. The colors are still vibrant, but soft, too! There is writing on the back and it is postmarked 1909 with a green Ben Franklin stamp. It is marked along one side of the stamp: Printed In Germany. Approx.: 3 1/2"W X 5 1/2"L.
CONDITION: There is the normal wear such as lightly scuffed corners & edges and light discoloration from age. This is a postcard that is over a hundred years old, so some wear is to be expected! All flaws mentioned are minor & only mentioned for accuracy! In very good, vintage & collectible condition. (There isn't a red trim on the bottom and on the top the red trim is a little wider. It apparently was cut wrong during the manufacturing process! This just adds to the uniqueness!)
