For your consideration is a vintage 1940's-50's Pyrex Flame Ware Early Glass Percolator Coffee Pot. It is from around the 1940's-50's and is what they call the true Flame Ware Coffee Pots. (Please see pages 67-68 of "PYREX, The Unauthorized Collector's Guide" by Barbara E. Mauzy, copyright dated 2004 Revised Edition.) This percolator is one of the older models Pyrex made before they made some minor changes, such as there is a handle on the top of the lid instead of a large knob, the large handle on the side is in a thick tube like shape and attached to a metal flange, and the percolator, itself, is in a light blue transparent glass. The lid & handles are in a clear glass. This coffee pot does have the original coffee grinds glass & metal basket on the inside also. The basket is usually hard to find because they are one of the first parts of the percolator to break! It is marked faintly on the bottom: (Flame Symbol), PYREX, etc.) The rest of the mark has rubbed off a lot, so it is very hard to read! It is in very good, vintage, collectible & usable condition. The very bottom of the large handle has a few minor chips around the very bottom. There is some light wavy areas in the blue glass on the bottom of the percolator that was done during manufacturing. All flaws mentioned are very minor & only mentioned for accuracy! Approx.: 8 4/8"T X 4 3/4"Rd (bottom); (Handle): 4 1/2"L.
