For your consideration is a vintage Anchor Hocking: Fire King: Gay Fad hand painted outlined fruit design glass casserole. The casserole, itself, is in a white glass and the lid is in a clear glass with a glass knob on the top. (For more information please see pages 196-199 of "Anchor Hocking's Fire-King & More, Second Edition: by Gene Florence, copyright 2000.) There is a manufacturer's mark on the bottom that reads & is also marked backwards, which happen during manufacturing, but I will try to reverse it so it is more readable: 10-5-11, Made In U.S.A., 02, Fire-King, Reg. W.T. It is not marked on the bottom as to the size of the casserole, but I believe it to be approx. 1 1/2 Qt. It is not too often that you find the Outlined Fruit pattern, such as this one, that consists of a red apple & purple grapes with green leaves and outlined in black. This pattern is on both sides. Except for the backwards manufacturer's mark, which is actually unique, and very very lightly chipped paint on one of the apples & a grape, this casserole is in very good, vintage and usable condition. No cracks, etc. noted! Approx.: 5"T (To top of knob) X 9 1/2"L (tip of handle to handle) X 8"W.
