For your consideration is a vintage gold tone colored compact with a thin vertical ribbed & tiny dot design on both the top & bottom exterior. On the top there is a smooth gold tone circle where, probably, some initials could be etched. It is approximately: 1/2"D X 1 1/2"Rd. There is a nice mirror on the inside of the lid and a metal round type of disc with no center to it and two metal handle type pieces, one on each side of the disc. It is marked on the disc only: Pat. Apr. 14-Aug. 4, 1912 (?). (You can barely read the year, but there is a 191-, but the last number of the year is very hard to read.) This disc is removable and I believe it is there to be used under the rouge so that when the rouge gets low it makes it easier to remove the old rouge and put a refill in. There is some red rouge residue on the bottom of the inside of the compact, Otherwise, it is in very good, vintage & usable condition. No dents or scratches noted! Except for the Pat. date mentioned above, this compact has no manufacturer's mark.
