For your consideration is a vintage FR. Hotz "The Harmonica King" Harmonica in its Original Tin Case. The top of the lid shows a young boy playing a harmonica and it reads next to him: The Harmonica King, Made By FR. Hotz, Germany. The case has a hinged backing between the lid & base. The harmonica is in a silver tone & red wood in between. One side of the harmonica reads the same as above except it also has it numbered 1 thru 10 along the rim. The other side reads in big letters: FR. HOTZ, along with etched & circled type of stamped awards received that some read: 1894; ANVERS; 1873; PARIS; 1900, etc. The case is approx.: 1"D X 4"L X 1 1/4"W.; (Harmonica): 3/4"T X 3 4/8"L X 1"W.
CONDITION: Both show wear from age & use. The tin has wear around the corners & edges of the lid from handling. The harmonica still sounds very good, but there is some tarnishing spots on the metal. I have polished the metal on the harmonica since the pictures have been taken. Light & hardly noticeable dent on one side. In very good, playable & vintage condition.
