For your consideration is a vintage (8?) sided to almost round glass Hoosier canning jar/canister. It is marked on the bottom: 7 (1 in a oval shape on a wide diamond shape symbol) 3, 10, Des. Pat. 86712. (The symbol stands for Owens Glass Co.) The sides are narrower and have ribbed sides for gripping it better. There is a Ball, No. 10 clear glass semi-flat seal top with a tin screw-on lid. The lid is open in the center so you can see inside from the top. It reads on the top of the tin lid: The Presto Jar And Closure Are Approved By The Good Housekeeping Institute, etc...... Under the rim and on 2 sides of the jar there is a place where a metal handle once was, but is no longer with this jar/canister. Very unique jar and would look great in any jar or bottle collection! In very good & vintage condition. No chips or cracks noted! Approx.: 6 1/4"T X 5 1/2"L X 3 1/2"W.
