An outstanding large and heavy English sterling silver (tested) Trompe L'oeil cigar cox, dated 1878 in the A De Villar Y brand. Each panel is finely engraved and patinated to emulate wood, the text is engraved and executed in black enamel.

The English registry mark to the underside indicates a production year of 1878, and classifies the composition as metal, however this tests for 92.5% silver purity.

Condition: Great condition. Very minor losses to the emulated wood revealing the silver. Some stating to the underside, we have not attempted to remove. Lacking the key, we assume the locking mechanism is working, but we are unable to test it.
