Interesting and well done Mexican Pendant/brooch from the 1980s showing the Aztec "Calendar Stone" or "Sun Stone" motifs. The central figure––a 'charming' fellow with tongue out––is surrounded by five depictions of stylized elements.....wind, fire, water, sun and jaguar. Surrounding the central circular section is a band of turquoise stone mosaic chips––the color is beautiful. The only markings on the back are "Mexico" and MMS but the piece tested positive for sterling when acid tested. The roll over clasp works well. The pin/pendant measures 1 1/2 inches in diameter and it weighs 11 grams and is in excellent vintage condition.
This vintage Mexican piece can be worn as a brooch or pendant throwing a nice dash of color onto any garment. It will arrive well packed and wrapped in a pretty gift pouch! Email questions are always welcome.
The necklaces showing the piece as a pendant are not included. They are for display only.
