Vintage B.P.O.E Lodge No. 7 Silver and Purple Guilloche' receipt / watch fob .
This wonderful little case is in very good condition! On one side is the engraved B.P.O.E emblem surrounded by white enamel - above that is an engraved Elk with the Eleventh hour clock all which is surrounded by wonderful Purple Guilloche enamel. The Back side has the No. 7 etched in it ( Lodge 7) as well as the initials J.F.B - all surrounded by Purple Guilloche enameling . The case dates to the early 1920's
The case is fairly heavy - The Guilloche is in excellent condition and the latch is in working order. It is a beautiful piece, measuring 2 1/4" inches long including link by 1 1/2" inches wide and almost 1/4 inch thick. I do not see a silver mark but did test for sterling . Other than a little polishing the case is in great condition
Lode no.7 no longer exsisits but was the initial ( first ) Baltimore Lodge . The lodge merged with a number of other lodges and is now known as the The Maryland, Delaware and District of Columbia Elks Association, consisting of 39 Lodges (32 in Maryland, 7 in Delaware). Membership is in excess of 24,000.
