This 18-5/8" ironstone platter in the Regent pattern by Bates Gildea & Walker, Circa 1880, is marked Regent B. G. & W Late Mayers. The English registry mark indicates it was made in 1880. There are two impressed mark on the back that are difficult to determine.
The platter has an ivory-color background with an outer band and center medallion decorated with griffins, lyres, and classical floral scrollwork in blue, ocher, and black.
There is staining on the bottom consistent with stoneware of this age and period, but is otherwise in good condition with no chips or cracks.
The oval measures approximately 18-5/8 inches long x 15 inches wide.
This 130 year old platter may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
