A magnificent hand beaded purse from the 1910s - 1920s, likely of European origin. The scene depicts a columned folly in a lush garden with a pond in the foreground and a lake dotted with sailboats in the background. It is made of thousands of tiny glass beads in many different colors that are hand woven. The frame is gilt and very ornate with lapis blue glass cabochons and enameling. It has a long chain handle. In excellent condition. The only flaw is that the lining was replaced at some time and one of the cabochons has been replaced (see detail photos). A rare extra large size and a glorious example of the beaded arts. Truly museum quality.
