This is an early (circa 1900) shell box often referred to as a Sailor's Valentine. The top is covered in various shells. The sides are covered in a lavender printed paper. The top points on the diamond are bent and missing a couple of shells. The bottom was reattached with tape at some time leaving evidence of the tape. There is also a dark stain on the bottom and up the side on one end. Still a very collectible box. It measures 3 1/2" on a side and 1 3/4" deep.
