This very early tin was made by Huntley, Boorne, and Stevens manufacturers for the Huntley & Palmers biscuit company. There were 45,000 of these tins made. Three other similar tins were made: 1897 Delft, 1898 Sledge, and 1899 Orient. It has an overlapping hinged lid. The finish is a wood grain with embossed dark finish locks and hardware. The tin measures 6" x 8" x 1 3/4". The bottom is marked Huntley & Palmers Biscuit Manufacturers Reading London. Very good condition. I have a second tin in similar condition. The price is for a single tin. You may buy one or both.
