This white ironstone cup & saucer set is decorated with lavender and lustre molded design called Chelsea Grape. Page 27 of "Collectors Encyclopedia of English China" by Mary Frank Gaston states that is dinner ware was made by several Staffordshire potteries from 1830. These pieces have the added asset of having an embossed garland design. The cup measures 3 1/4" in diameter while the saucer measures 5 7/8" in diameter. There are no makers' marks. Very good condition.
