This large sampler is framed appropriately for enhancement and protection of the antique needlework. The frame is cold. The double mats are olive green and pink, the colors of the yarn. The thread appears to be wool. There are multiple borders. The first group is uppercase alphabet. This is followed by two sets of numerals. Then the lowercase alphabet with crowns. It is unusual in that the next line is Roman Numerals. There is one live of cursive letter from A to H. The name is Jane Cousin. She attended the Dollar Institution. The sampler was completed 30 April 1898. There is minimal thread loss on the right side. The sample was framed in Metairie, LA. The overall size is 17" x 20".
