This tin has a lovely lithographed image on the lid. It is identified as CHELSEA about 1840. In other words a street scene in Chelsea as it would have looked in 1840. I have not been able to confirm the date of this tin. Because of its design, I would date it to the 1930's. The sides of the tin are decorated with an Art Deco pattern. The shape is rectangular with the front curved in a serpentine manner. It measures 9 1/2" x 3 3/4" x 2". The bottom is marked McVitie & Price Edinburgh. There are a few scratches on the lid. Otherwise, very good condition.
