The appeal to this very early tin is the shape. It was manufactured for the Huntley & Palmers Biscuit tin. This shape was used for several other tins with difference lithographed images. Christmas, Algerian, Mexico have this shape as well. The bottom has a very decorative advertisement advertising this tin as "The Grand Prize" in the Paris Exhibition. It has a hinged lid. It is cruciform shaped with rounded edges. The lithograph on the lid depicts Spanish dancers. The lithographs on the lid are quite worn. The tin measures 6 1/2" x 7" x 3 1/2". The tin has considerable wear to the surface and the colors somewhat faded, otherwise in good condition. This tin is really scarce.
