This British Biscuit Tin is a wonderful example of the figural tins used by the Huntley & Palmers Biscuit Company. The inside of the lid is marked as such. The shape is unusual and it measures 7 3/4" tall and 7" wide. It is 2 1/2" deep. The lid is a pull-off lid with a round decorative knob. One side of the tin features a farmer with a horse. The color on this side is quite worn. The other side has very good color with a farmer plowing with an ox. The border is Art Nouveau. The ends of the tin have round vignettes. One is a windmill and the other a rural landscape. These images lead to some to name this tin Dutch Farmers. The tin shows age and normal wear but it is remarkably good condition for 100+ years.
