This small rectangular tray was made to be an underplate for a sauce tureen or gravy boat. It has many uses in addition to its decorative value. The flow blue border is stylized bell flowers in an Art Nouveau pattern. The blue is a dark grey-blue. The edge is scalloped. The mark on the bottom identifies the pattern and the maker, Alfred Meakin. This mark was used ca 1907+. It measures 7 1/2" x 6 1/4". The tray is in very good condition.
