I have a large inventory of antique photo albums with illustrated pages. In addition, I have a multitude of pages cut from albums. The illustrations in this album are outstanding works of art by K. Crawford. There are 12 of the illustrations surrounding the photo openings. In addition, Each illustration has a line from a poem to illustrate the subject. Poets include Shakespeare, Moore, Wordsworth, Ketas, Byron, Burns, Scott, and others. The album was made by M & Co. There is a tag inside the front cover reading, "The Albemarle Stationery Company Old Bond St. London. The album has a lovely leather cover. It is worn, but the softness and patina are wonderful. The spine has damage as shown in the photo. The clasp is missing. The pages in the album have light soil but very few tears. There are 24 pages. It will hold 19 cabinet size photos and 73 Carte-de-Visite (CDV) photographs. The overall size of the album is 11 7/8" x 9". This album is unique and quite impressive.
