This native American beaded boot was made in the late 19th century for the tourist trade. It's original purpose was a pin cushion as well as decorative art. It is most unusual to find this type of boot as large as this one. The boot measures 12" x 7". To make this item even more desirable, the boot as been framed in an attractive shadowbox with glass. The shadowbox measures 20" x 15 1/2" and stands 3 1/2" from the wall. The box prevents damage as well as giving a platform for display. The background of the boot is red. The beads are clear, pink and blue. The background of the box is blue. The major damage that I can see is that the red of the book and the blue background are quite faded. There is some damage to the red background. It appears there are two repairs to the beads that were done before framing.
