This huge meat platter measures 17" x 21". It has a deep well and valleys for the meat juices and/or gravies to drain. The design is printed in cobalt blue. The flowers are highlighted in pink-red enamels. The enamels are worn. The bottom has an impressed mark which is a half-circle with the word PEARL and a script letter that looks like a D. The impressed PEARL mark was used to describe the body type by the Josiah Wedgwood company from 1840-1868. This platter has an old repair on one end. The ridges which rest on the table have large chips off of them. It does not rock when on a flat surface. There is evidence of luster decoration around the edge and highlighting the design. Must of this is worn. This platter displays quite well.
