This platter is not marked, but the pattern is quite familiar. It is called Spode's Blue Italian. The border is bold stylized flowers. The center is a landscape with sheep, cows, and people. There appears to be a soldier with a spear behind a woman on her knees at the edge of the water. There is another woman calmly reading on a bench. This is taken from an ink and wash drawing attributed to Frederick de Maucheron. There is a large old chip on one end of the platter. However, this lovely platter does display well. The platter measures 18 1/2" x 14 1/2".
