These gutta percha cases were made for ambrotype and daguerreotype photography of the late 19th century. The case has a brass bezel over glass. Under the glass is a tin-type or daguerrotype of a man. I am not sure which. The metal has been trimmed on the corners. The left side of the case has its velvet padding intact. The case, glass, and bezel are in excellent condition. As I said the photo has been trimmed. The case measures 2 5/8" x 2 1/2".
