This plate is not marked, but it is very early Staffordshire. The edge has a molded design of flowers, daisies and bell flowers. The center has 4 gentleman, one holding a cricket bat. There is a saying printed in black. It reads, "They took it away to the end of the field, and beneath some long grass it was quickly conceal'd. And the basket they put by his side." The plate has no chips or cracks. There is wear to the high points of the molded decoration. The bottom is stained. The plate measures 7 1/2" in diameter.
