This wood box is wood burned, a craft practiced around the turn of the 20th century. The box measured 7" x 4 1/4" x 3 7/8". The hinges and clasp work quite well. The lid, from, and two sides have a cross-hatch pattern. The back is plain. The lid has a Victorian lady with leaves and flowing hair in Art Nouveau style. The from has flowers with a scroll. It appears someone has written a name on the scroll, but it is not burned or deep enough to read. The flowers have been stains red. The sides have matching flowers. The box is in good condition.
