This large travel desk is very plate with only a wood shield escutcheon and brass handles. The box measures 10" x 16" x 7". When open there are blue covered writing surfaces. There is a pencil try and holes for ink bottles. There is a wood peg which is lifted to free the drawer. Papers may be stored under the writing surfaces. The box is in very good condition. The blue felt has been replaced. The wood peg is possibly a replacement. The catch on the upper lid has been repaired. Wonderful example of an early writing desk.
