This is a very rare tin circa 1899. It is one of a series of square tins made by Huntley & Palmers. Others in the series are Henley, Gymkhana, With Dog & Gun, Navy, and Canadian. The box is 5 1/2" square and 3 3/4" high. The hinged lid has an African scene with a Lion as the primary focus. There is a hunter in the background. The front has pyramids and a sphinx. One side has a horse-drawn wagon. The back has a native village. The other side has a flock of flamingos. The bottom is marked Huntley & Palmers. All the images have a scrolled, raised frame. The box is dark and the finish quite aged. Otherwise, the tin is in very good condition.
