Pair of 19th Century Botanical Watercolors, Framed
These are lovely floral watercolors initialed M. B. The back of each has a label identifying the artist as Margaret Birkenhead. The labels are from The Trafford Gallery 119 Mount Street London. One is titled "Rose Mermaid", the other Pelargonium. Margaret was a Countess. The watercolor execution is extraordinary. These have been dated circa 1885. They are framed in frames from that era. The frames are desirable on their own in spite of the damage to the gesso on one especially. The total size is 11 7/8" x 9". There is glass. The paper does have some staining. These are still lovely prints for display.
