This large pitcher weighs nearly 5 lb. It measures 10" tall and 7" in diameter at the base. At one time it had a pewter lid. The holes are still present. The pitcher has the extensive molding and decoration as the Staffordshire figures and Majolica pieces of the 19th century. The front has a couple cuddling beneath a grape vine. The man and woman have cobalt blue waist coasts and striped trousers and skirt. There is gold around the rim and the base. The handle has a vine molded shape. The pitcher is heavily crazed. There is one chip (flake) on the rim. This is an unusual piece and quite a wonderful display piece for the collector.
