This leather photograph album dates circa 1900. The cover is embossed leather. The embossed design is nautical in character with rope, anchors, and chains. This is repeated on the back. The album has 22 heavy cardboard pages. The title page, the index, and 12 of the photo pages are colored lithographs. The blank pages have a gilded rope border. The album will hold 41 carte-de-visite photos, 22 cabinet photographs, 4 of the large 4" x 8" photos, and 5 of the tiny 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" photos. The condition is good but does have some issues. The spine is loose. Most of the pages have some soil or darkening. A few of the frames have tears. One of the colored image pages have a puncture wrinkle (shown in last photo). This album would be great for anyone associated with the navy. The pages can be removed to make photo mats for framing. This is an unusual album.
