This large figure measures 11 1/2" tall. It is a single figure (sailor) standing next to a large barrel. The figure is holding a mug. He is dressed in short breeches, jacket, neckerchief, cap, and black boots. The orange scarf is partially covers his black hair. He also has a beard. There are raised letters on the base which I have not been able to decipher. This figure was made as one of a pair. The pair is pictured on page 72 in the reference book, "Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-75 Book Three"by A. & N. Harding. The figure is heavily crazed. There is a rub on the nose. No chips or cracks.
