This Aesthetic brown transfer printed plate measures 7" in diameter. The center design features a horse with a great expression. He is circled with grasses, flowers, horse shoes (for luck) and a butterfly. The Aesthetic theme has an oriental fan below the horse. The brown design is highlighted rust brown, green, and yellow. Each letter of the alphabet round the rim is circled with a vine. There is a rust brown ring around the rim. The plate is marked, made by W. Adams and Sons Tunstall Staffordshire pottery circa 1890. The plate is without chips or cracks. There are two places where the ring around the edge did not print. There is a stray piece of clay under the glaze near the "T".
