This pedestal cake plate has an English registry mark impressed. I cannot make it out but is is mid 19th century. Another piece of this set is more legible. It has a date code "J", 1854. The maker is: Brownfield (& Son(S)); previously Wood & Brownfield (W&B). The plate measures 9" on a side with the handles making it 11". It stands 2 1/2" tall. The design is transfer printed in blue. Magenta & yellow enamels are added. The raised designs as well as the printed designs are highlighted in gilding. The center is a rose. There is a chain border with roses inside the links of the chain. There are no chips or cracks. There is some discoloration, especially to the underside.
