This tin originally came with chocolates. The tin is shaped like a salt box (could possibly be candle box), so that it would be useful after the candy had been eaten. The tin is lovely in that it is lithographed with a faux finish resembling fine wood inlay parquetry. The top, front, and both sides have designs. The tin is marked on the bottom John Buchanan& Bros. The tin dates to circa 1930. It measures 7" x 7 1/2" x 5 3/4". The top of the back (folds down) adds another 4". The surface is has considerable wear. There is a minor dent in the lid. The tin displays quite well.
