This butterpat scalloped edge with gilding. It measures 2 7/8" in diameter. Butter pats are highly collected and often referred to a butter chips. They are a very small version of patterns on complete dinner sets. The butter pat is marked with the pattern name, ROSEVILLE, and the makers mark. The maker is John Maddocks. The center design is a very stylized flower flanked by very dark leaves. Very good condition.
