This is a sugar cream pitcher, one piece of a children's brown transferware tea set. The Aesthetic pattern is named AVONA. This teapot is not marked but other pieces of the set are marked with a registry number dating this pattern to January 15, 1881. The maker is the Staffordshire pottery Holmes, Stonier & Hollinshead located in Hanley. It is decorated with an Aesthetic brown transfer design featuring a windmill. The handle is made to resemble bamboo. The creamer measures 3" tall including the lid and 3 1/2" from handle to spout. It is in excellent condition. I will be listing other pieces of this set separately. If the whole set is purchased, the price can be negotiated.
