This is a waste bowl, one piece of a children's brown transferware tea set. The pattern is named AVONA. This piece is not marked but other pieces of the set are marked with a registry number dating this pattern to January 15, 1881. The maker is the Staffordshire pottery Holmes, Stonier & Hollinshead located in Hanley. It is decorated with an Aesthetic brown transfer design featuring a windmill. The bowl measures 4 1/8" in diameter and 2 1/2" high. This piece is in excellent condition. I will be listing other pieces of this set separately. If the whole set is purchased, the price can be negotiated.
